Foundations Movement Group
Foundations Movement Group is a child focused movement programme that identifies and helps individuals overcome physical barriers to development and learning. The small group setting promotes connection and confidence, alongside improving emotional and physical literacy.
Foundations Movement Group can support your child by:
- Assessing neuromotor readiness for learning through the INPP method
- Develop body awareness and support improved co-ordination
- Build strong foundations for movement and learning
- Helping with emotional, behavioural and educational challenges
- Run by an expereinced Teacher and a Children's Physiotherapist
The group runs on a termly basis
Day: Wednesdays
Time: 5pm - 6pm
Location: Worcester Warriors Foundation, Cecil Duckworth House, Worcester, WR1 2NE
There is parking on the street outside Worcester Warriors Foundation and a car park near by.

Kate Shone
Children's Physiotherapist
Hello, I'm Kate and I am a Children’s Physiotherapist, I have been practicing for over 18 years and I have worked within the community setting and in the acute setting of Birmingham Children’s Hospital. We are both trained through the INPP School’s Course.
The INNP Programme
INPP has pioneered research into the effects of neuro-immaturity on learning and behaviour. Every child is born with a set of primitive reflexes, sometimes known as survival reflexes, which should be inhibited or controlled by a higher part of the brain during the first year of life. If these reflexes persist beyond the first year, they can interfere with subsequent motor development, visual functioning needed for reading, hand coordination required for writing, and perceptual skills. They provide evidence of immaturity in the functioning of the central nervous system, which can act as barriers to learning. These reflexes may also lead to behavioural problems such as concentration difficulties, frustration, poor impulse control, and underachievement.
The INPP method has been developed to identify underlying causes and to offer a completely drug-free and non-invasive treatment, which can help children overcome these problems and give them the tools with which to succeed. INPP was established in 1975, and since that time has helped many thousands of children in numerous countries worldwide. Details of published research based on the INPP method may be found at www.inpp.org.uk/publications.
The INPP exercise programme aims to enhance learning by reducing abnormally retained reflexes, that may inhibit development. The programme will begin with a detailed assessment that grades children’s retained reflexes. The assessment will then be used to inform the planning and the prescribed exercises and group activities. The key elements of this programme are regularity, repetition, and duration so we will continue to build on the programme of movements each week. We also ask you to support the programme by monitoring your child carrying out the exercises for 5-10 minutes each day. As well as the INPP exercises, we will complete a number of different activities to help with core strengthening and a variety or gross and fine motor skills.
